Event Details

The mission of the Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN) is to mobilize United Methodists of all sexual orientations and gender identities to transform our Church and world into the full expression of Christ’s inclusive love. Toward that end, RMN developed the five-year Called to Witness (CTW) campaign, which is based on the understanding that people don’t change - until they hear other people’s stories and get to know one another.

Believe Out Loud (BOL) is the theme for the third year of CTW, and is designed to equip and empower Reconciling volunteers to build intentional relationships both within the movement and across ideological and theological divides.

Participants in BOL workshops nationwide are learning how to be BOLD – living as Believe Out Loud Disciples. After attending this training, you’ll have a greater understanding of how to witness and make a BOLD difference in your congregation or Annual Conference. You will be prepared to increase your commitment to the Reconciling movement, to make a pledge to expand the work of the movement, and to invite others to small group gatherings to talk about what it means to be a Reconciling United Methodist.

Minnesota’s workshop, led by RMN trainer Katie Krumbach, will run from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Saturday, January 16, 2010. The training and class materials are offered at no charge, and lunch will be provided. Free childcare is available with advance registration. A freewill offering will be collected.

Additionally, overnight accommodations in homes can be arranged for those traveling from outside the metro area – we suggest a donation of $10 to support the Minnesota Reconciling Congregations.

Please register today and join us for this important event. It’s not enough to simply believe in the principle of full inclusion – we all need to learn to speak up and BELIEVE OUT LOUD!
